domestic adoption  Family Connection, Inc. provides domestic adoption services for birth parents and adoptive parents in New York State.  Domestic adoption is when a child is adopted in the United States.

 

In private agency domestic adoption, a birth mother (and birth father if known) makes an adoption plan for their unborn child with qualified adoptive parents with the support of an adoption agency, like Family Connections, Inc.

 

Family Connections, Inc., an authorized New York State Adoption Agency will provide the following services for birth parents and adoptive parents.

 

Services for Birth Parents:

  1. Exploration of parenting or adoption options
  2. Explaination of adoption choices (i.e. open, semi-open, confidential)
  3. Provision of profiles of qualified adoptive parents from whom to choose a family for their child
  4. Meeting with potential adoptive parents (if wanted)
  5. Development of an adoption plan with the chosen adoptive family
  6. Support for the building of a relationship with the adoptive family (if wanted)  
  7. Help during the hospital stay
  8. Accept the surrender of the child and place the child with the chose adoptive parents
  9. Support after the adoption and facilitation of any post-adoption contact agreement with the adoptive family
  10. Counseling services pre and post adoption (if wanted)
  11. Referral to legal services (no cost to birth parent)
  12. Help with living expenses (e.g. housing, maternity clothes, transportation, medical expenses)

All services are provided with respect for the birth parent's choices and wishes.  All services are provided at no cost to the birth parent.  All services are confidential.

  2. Home study investigation
  3. Profile development
  4. Outreach to potential birth parents
  5. Provision of family profile to potential birth parents
  6. Help with meeting with potential birth parents
  7. Matching with birth parents
  8. Development of an adoption plan with the birth family 
  9. Support for the building of a relationship with the birth family (if wanted by the birth family)
  10. Coordination of hospital stay
  11. Accept the surrender of the child and place the child with the family
  12. Support after the adoption and facilitation of any post-adoption contact agreement with the birth family

 

All services are provided with respect for the adoptive parents choices and wishes.  All services are confidential.
