Family Connections, Inc. is a New York State authorized adoption agency providing adoptive services for birth parents and adoptive families in Central New York (as well as the rest of the State).
Family Connections, Inc. provides adoption options counseling for birth parent(s) who are considering adoption as a loving choice for their unborn child.
The Agency:
- Educates a birth parent about their adoption choices; for example, open vs semi-open vs confidential adoption.
- Guarantees the birth parent's right to make their own decision regarding the parenting or adoptive placement of their child.

- Supports the birth parent as they choose an adoptive family for their child while respecting their choice of parents.
- Helps the birth parent and adoptive family develop a positive relationship (if wanted).
- Assists the birth family get needed services (e.g. housing, maternity clothing, prenatal medical care).
- Refers the birth parent to lawyers who will represent them in the adoption process (please note: all costs are paid by the adoptive parents).
- Helps develop and supports a plan for the hospital.
- Supports the birth family's emotional needs and provides counseling services if wanted (before and after the adoptive placement).
- Ensures that any agreed upon post adoption contact is honored.
- Is available 24/7 to provide support to the birth family.
Family Connections, Inc. is Hague accredited by IAAME and provides adoption services for families who wish to build or expand their families through domestic or international adoption.
The Agency:
- Has a domestic infant adoption placement program for New York State families.
- Acts as a Primary Provider for adoptions from Belize, Bulgaria, Honduras, Hungary, Jamaica and Pakistan.
- Provides home study investigation services for families adopting domestically (private and public) and internationally.
- Assists with dossier preparation for families adopting internationally.
- Supports and supervises families after the placement of their child domestically or internationally.
