Birth parents and adoptive parents come together to provide a child with a loving forever home.  They share many similar emotions and dreams:

Experience of Loss

Most adoptive parents come to adoption after great losses.  After years of infertility, failed fertility treatments, miscarriages, and even the death of child at birth or shortly after birth.  Through their experience with loss, adoptive parents understand and empathize with the losses a birth parent experience when she/they decide to place their birth child for adoption.  The adoptive parents and birth parents share the emotions of loss.

Dreams of a Better Life for Themselves and the Child

All birth parents and adoptive parents have dreams and aspiration.  Birth parents wish for improved life circumstances -- attending college/finishing school, repairing relationships, escaping an abusive relationship, seeking treatment for substance abuse, working themselves out of poverty, etc.  They know that if they choose to parent a child when they are not ready, it will prevent them from reaching their dreams.

All adoptive parents dream of having a family.  The only way their dream can come true is through adoption -- through the selfless act of a birth parent(s) placing their child into their family.

Wish for a Loving Forever Family for the Child

Both birth parents' and adoptive parents' first priority is the child.  Birth parents think about what is best for the child above all else -- they put the child's needs before their own.  Adoptive parents always put their child first.  Birth parents and adoptive parents do what is in the best interests of the child.

Mutual Respect

Adoptive parents have great respect and reverance for birth parents.  Adoptive parents having feelings of temendous gratitude for the incrediable gift of life the birth parents have given them.  Birth parents repect adoptive parents choice to become parents through adoption.

A Bond of Love

Birth parents and adoptive parents are forever bonded through their love of the child.  The birth parents choose to place their child for adoption because of their love for the child.  The adoptive parents will love and cherish their child and will always love and respect their child's birth parent(s).
