We're excited to be on the road to parenthood! Adoption has always been our first choice to start a family. We made the decision to pursue adoption while we were still dating, and once we got married, we started the process of becoming adoptive parents.

We understand that you are making an incredibly difficult decision. We want you to know that we will always respect you and your wishes and know you will always hold a special place in your child's heart.

Becoming a parent has been a lifelong dream for both of us and we can't wait to share our hearts and home with a child. Due to infertility, without you, we wouldn't have the chance. Thank you for taking the time to consider us.

       OUR STORY

We met in 2013 through mutual friends and immediately hit it

off. Our first few dates were spent walking and talking all over Manhattan, we quickly bonded

over our mutual love of history and travel. Over the last decade, we've been able to travel together to many historic sites all over the US and Europe. We cherish the memories we've made on these trips, and we can't wait to continue our adventures with a little one.

ABOUT MARYANNE TOLD BY SEAN

Maryanne is a caring, intelligent and compassionate person. When we first started dating, I quickly learned that she is the bedrock of her friend group and she's always planning fun events to get everybody together. She has a big heart, which is why she has so many lifelong friends.

Maryanne is a naturally curious person and is always picking up a new book to read or learning a new skill. During our time together, I’ve watched her pick up everything from needlepoint to coding. Over the last few years, I’ve gotten to see Maryanne become both a godmother to her best friend's daughter and an aunt to our niece and nephew. She lights up whenever she’s around them and they love spending time playing and reading together. I know she’s going to be a great mom because she cares so much about other people.

  Maryanne’s Career

Maryanne works for a media company, and her job is remote. The company offers a generous family leave policy. She is planning on taking six months off once the baby arrives and is looking forward to that special bonding time.

ABOUT SEAN TOLD BY MARYANNE

Since meeting Sean, he has been a constant source of love and support in my life and is the most reliable person I know. He is dedicated to his family, friends, and work as an attorney, and always puts 100% into whatever he sets his mind to. Sean loves to plan trips, whether close to home or abroad. He has a knack for choosing the best restaurants and I’m always looking forward to whatever he comes up with next. Sean and I go to Lake George every summer with his family, and I can’t wait to continue that tradition with a little one.

Along with traveling, Sean enjoys trying out new recipes in the kitchen and running in the park near our home. Recently, we’ve welcomed our niece and nephew into the family, and it’s been a joy seeing “Uncle Sean” bond with them. Sean has a gentle spirit and endless patience which is why I think he’s going to make such an outstanding dad.

OUR HOME

We live in a unique neighborhood, which has a small town feel even though it's in a city. We are lucky to live right across the street from a park. The park has plenty of great activities for kids including playgrounds, ice skating/roller rinks, a zoo, carousel, and tons of open space. Our neighborhood also features many great schools, quality childcare centers, and tons of family-friendly restaurants. An added perk is we also live within walking distance to many of Maryanne’s friends and her parents are only a 20-minute drive away.

We both grew up in and around New York City and have always loved being able to take advantage of all it has to offer. From baseball games to Broadway shows, there is always something fun and unique to do.

OUR FAITH

We come from different faith backgrounds (Maryanne is Catholic & Sean is Jewish) so we've been able to teach each other about our favorite traditions. We make latkes with Sean's family for Hanukkah and color Easter eggs every spring with Maryanne's parents.

During the holidays,

we always have both a Menorah and a Christmas tree on display and we feel like we get double the fun.

MEET OUR FAMILY

Our community of friends and family are very excited and supportive of our adoption journey. We're very lucky to have so many loved ones close by which makes it easy to get together for celebrations and holidays. Maryanne's parents also live in Brooklyn and Sean's parents live in a suburb north of the city. Both of our families have gotten very close, so we spend many holidays all together. On the weekends, we love going to New Jersey to visit Sean's sister and play with our niece and nephew.

We have both stayed close with the people we grew up with and have lots of traditions with our extended group of friends. Maryanne's friends love doing Halloween activities in the fall and have done everything from Sleepy Hollow haunted hayrides to less spooky apple cider tastings. Every summer some of Sean's friends host a reunion BBQ and it's become quite a big gathering with everyone's spouses and kids. We also both have extended family in Florida and love to escape the cold and fly down for visits in the winter.
