Once you have decided to adopt a child through inter-country (international adoption) you must also employ the services of an International Adoption Placement Agency (Primary Provider). This agency will need to have achieved Hague Accreditation and work in the country you want to adopt from in order to complete an inter-country (international) adoption. International Adoption Placement Agencies (Primary Providers) identify orphaned children for adoption in foreign countries, refer children for adoption to prospective adoptive parents, and facilitate the international adoption process. The family’s Primary Provider will work in partnership with the family’s home study provider and post-adoption supervision agency (e.g. Family Connections, Inc.) that is authorized/licensed in the state where the family resides.
